FemiSex, 2012 post: Trayvon Martin tragedy includes the misogynist cultural cues he learned

tm.jpg

The killing of the black teen, Travon Martin, in Florida is very sad, both for the Hispanic male who shot the teen and the teen shot. Where the blame lies is not for this site to decide but for the authorities. That said, here is where we come in: Travon Martin, per his twitter tweets was one sad sack misogynist. Here are a few of his tweets (his handle is @no_limit_nigga) courtesty of the Daily Caller:

@no_limit_nigga
RT@x_highlyfavored: - fuck a bitch. any bitch. who you want? take yo pick, but you gone have to take yo time.
And:
RT @fukunurhoexxx: #youthetype of bitch that give up your pussy for free and think its cool
and:
RT @ReesyyLaTootieB: Hahaha Hoe u got USED fa yo loose ass pussy.! Tighten up.! #Literally

We don't know if racism was what felled Travon, but surely sexism was his trade. He sounds like a modern day KKK for women as he blasts out horrific sexism to his followers.

Barack Hussein Obama came out and said: "If i had a son he'd look like Travon Martin."
Not really Barky, but he would most likey sound like him.

Sexism has been very very good to Mr. Obama and not once has he denounced sexism. The time he did speak up, (against Rush) it was to USE sexism to gain political points for himself. Time for a shower.

Agreed.

Meld this: 'I am not a dictator'

The sequester is getting attention for sure, but two other comments by President Obama at a brief news conference Friday are likely to have a long shelf life.

First, the president announced he is not a dictator.

Then Obama disclosed he could not "mind meld" with Republicans to force a sequester deal, though it appears he mixed his science fiction metaphors.

"Most people agree I'm presenting a fair deal, " Obama said. "The fact that they (Republicans) don't take it means that I should, somehow, you know, do a Jedi mind meld with these folks and convince them to do what's right."

Alas, the Vulcan Mind Meld is the property of Star Trek's Mr. Spock (a character Obama has been compared to, oddly enough).

The Jedi, of Star Wars fame, used "mind tricks" to get people to do what they want, according to numerous science fiction geeks who flocked to Twitter after the president's remarks.

Even the White House got on the Star Wars joke, tweeting out a picture of the president and advocating his budget plan with the caption, "we must bring balance to the Force." The White House also gave a shout-out to Mr. Spock, saying: "To Deny The Facts Would Be Illogical."

Spock himself -- also known as actor Leonard Nimoy -- weighed in, more or less defending Obama by tweeting: "Only a Vulcan mind meld will help with this congress."

The Atlantic website reports that Obama "shatters his nerd credibility" -- which strikes us as a good thing.

The president had made the same point earlier when he told reporters he couldn't force the Republicans to agree to a new budget deal.

"I am not a dictator," Obama said. "I'm the president."

He added: "So, ultimately if Mitch McConnell or John Boehner say, 'we need to go to catch a plane,' I can't have Secret Service block the doorway. Right?"

Who says this: "I am not a dictator. I'm the president."

I mean, who WOULD say such a thing? Someone whose ego and self-love is mountainous, one who teases himself with the idea that he should be a dictator. A benevolent dictator. That'd be fine. With him. And, obviously, plenty of poorly informed citizens of the United States (not to mention all those fans overseas).

Obama has confirmed -- if you want to use that term rather than 'woefully explained' -- that he also is not an emperor. On multiple occasions.

I think it's clear to everyone that Obama WISHES he could avoid all this make-believe compromising he's doing. Changing the goal posts, pretending he's a centrist when he's a statist, pretending he's "post-political" when he's created more divisiveness with his words than any president I can recall since radio was invented.

SI 'props': If Bush had been shooting models in the Outback, CAN YOU IMAGINE THE UPROAR?!

Is it offensive to show bikini-clad models alongside locals around the world?

The icy, hot Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue has prompted some controversy.

No, no one's complaining about Kate Upton's curves (that we know of, anyway).

Jezebel.com stirred up chatter this week by pointing out that the issue features models posing with "natives." Writer Dodai Stewart goes on to say that "using people of color as background or extras is a popular fashion trope, whether it's Nylon magazine, the Free People catalogue, British Vogue or J.Crew. But although it's prevalent, it's very distasteful." She adds: "People are not props."

The 2013 SI swimsuit issue does indeed feature many people from around the world, in addition to its models. There's an African man with a spear in the background of a photo shot in Namibia. In a photo taken in China, the model sits on a raft as a man uses a pole to propel it. "A white person relaxing, a person of color working," writes Stewart.

In a press call today, cover girl Kate Upton and model Genevieve Morton joined Travel Channel general manager Andy Singer and SI swimsuit issue editor MJ Day to talk about Sports Illustrated: The Making of Swimsuit '13 – 7 Continents, 17 Wonders, premiering Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. And they addressed the controversy.

But first, they proudly talked about what went into the globe-covering issue. More than 90,000 miles, 230 hours, 10,000 photos, 100 hours of video and 400-800 bathing suits were needed to pull off what Day calls a "very ambitious effort." It took seven months of shooting on all seven continents.

"Having been here for 14 years," said Day, "not to pat myself on the back, but this is the most mind-blowing, awe-inspiring, ambitious achievement you've ever seen in print and in video." She said, "It was a very expensive trip. An investment, but well worth it."

And her reaction to the complaints?

None

"I look at it like this," she said. "We pick these locations very specifically. That is because we can show people the world. How much of the population can access areas of the world we can access? We feel beauty exists on all levels as well. The beauty is in the people and the places. We want to immerse you as a viewer in these situations." Of the controversy, she dismissed it, saying, "There's nothing to it."

Morton, who shot her photos in Australia for the mag, defended using locals in the photos, citing the benefit of "travel and tourism." She added, "You wouldn't really think to go on holiday to somewhere so remote as where I was in Australia, so to be able to capture that with beautiful girls and put it out there was a great experience for the locals."

Cracked Upton, who posed in Antarctica: "My only locals were penguins."

Singer added that the special will put it all into context. "In the magazine you get one snapshot. In the special you see how the models and crew interact with the locals in a positive way. They really are part of the process."

None

Oh, and as for Kate and those curves? She addressed them, saying, "I have a personal trainer, and I try and stay healthy and work out as much as possible." And, she added, "My curves are natural. They're not going away not matter how hard I work out."

She also didn't reveal any romantic Valentine's Day plans: "I'm launching my cover of Sports Illustrated in Las Vegas."

And her advice for anyone going to Antarctica is simple: "I would say keep your clothes on. But definitely go there! It's the most beautiful place I've ever been."

"Distasteful." But not racist, not objectifying the impoverished, not treating people like cattle, not favoring the rich and entitled, using helpless citizens to one's own ends? Nothing like that?

Huh, they must all be devoted, avowed, registered Democrats, these models and photographers. After all, no one's hair is on fire over how awful this mistreatment of these people were. Spastic, knee-jerk, overemotional and salty kudos to Jezebel.com for pointing it out, though! (Gag.) This will go down as who cares for the media -- rightfully so.

But could you imagine if this were the Fox News anchors doing a photo shoot with locals the world over? There'd be all kinds of outrage.

Funny how this story, at least, mentioned nothing of whether these locals in the photos were compensated for their time. (They absolutely should have been, dammit.)

Cry dog! Florida's Rick Scott abused by Democrats and loony left over his return of rescue dog

I Google searched the madness over Reagan the, uhh, mistreated governor's dog today, about a month after (Jan. 16. 2013) the story apparently went wild (I didn't know). See the search here.

Stunning: The joyful hate and spastic outrage against Florida governor Rick Scott upon the revelation, by his admin., that his family gave back his first rescue dog because it was too nervous in the mansion. And, as a result, the big dog made people nervous. So, he returned the dog, it's said, and it may or may not live on a ranch.
Oh, yes... horrible man! Just horrible! Bad governor! Baaad! The poor doggie has to live on a ranch! Oh my Goooood!
That must seem so cruel, to leftist sheep who live around almost nothing but concrete and steel, in the city, I guess, making anyone or anything live on a ranch like, eww, like George W. Bush does. Ahh, city liberals. (Kidding. As if there's any rationalizing the response as anything but blind partisan sniping.)
Obviously, folks like the Daily Kos are leading the misleading: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/01/16/1179352/-Gov-Rick-Scott-Bad-Reagan-T...
Others are rational about the story, because reality-challenged leftists aren't completely ruling the news media yet. For instance, Politico, and doubtless many others. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/01/rick-scott-shelter-dog-reagan-86245.html
Miraculously, those who aren't unhinged at the brain stem wind up well below the Daily Kos links on the search engine. I wonder why that is?
I can see a new ad from some leftist operator of dog adoption operation:
"Must loved dogs. Must hate Rick Scott!"

Vacationer-in-chief: Obama will be getting lessons... on sport

It looks like Golf Digest has unearthed the big reason President Obama is spending President's Day weekend in Palm City, Fla.
He's getting golf lessons from one of the sport's top coaches.
Butch Harmon, who has worked with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and other golf stars, will school Obama, as will son Claude Harmon III.
Read the story: http://www.usatoday.com/story/theoval/2013/02/15/obama-butch-harmon-golf-scho...

I'm very glad that the president is trying to improve his skills. I just wish they were skills that mattered AT ALL.

When's he start his economics training with Ben Stein or somebody? As if.
